Phoebe Beachner's preliminary experience of interior design as an adolescent and as an out-of-state student at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) helped her spark a passion for interior design.
When she started her undergraduate studies at SCAD, she was continuously given opportunities to work with professionals, as a teammate, and as a team leader, and the chance to learn and create outside of her comfort zone.
In 2013, she moved to Savannah, Georgia, from Olathe, Kansas, to work towards completing her B.F.A. in interior design while minoring in architectural history. In 2017, she graduated with her Master of Professional Studies in Sustainable Interior Environments degree from the New York School of Interior Design. She completed her internship with Taylor Spellman New York, a staging and luxury interior design firm in New York.
Instilled with a love of learning and a love for "place" at a young age, Phoebe spent the summer of 2016 teaching interior design courses to high school students worldwide on the Yale University campus with Exploration Summer Programs.
Phoebe is an interior designer for Hart Howerton New York, a firm providing full interdisciplinary architectural, interior design, land planning, and landscape architecture services. She focuses mainly on hotel & restaurant design, design for spa and wellness, and private high-end residential.
Phoebe has received the IIDA Sustainable Design Education Fund, was a panelist on the IIDA Future of Design Roundtable, and published in the ASID Student Portfolio Book and the Atelier New York School of Interior Design Magazine. Phoebe is a former NEWH NY Chapter Green Voice Committee Chair and board member.
She is the Professional Development Director for the ASID New York Metro chapter and the chapter’s Events Committee chair, as well as a member of the Health, Wellness & Sustainabiity Committee.
Additionally, Phoebe connects with high school classrooms for extended outreach relevant to the design industry through the USGBC & Nepris. She is also on the advisory board at the New York School of Interior Design for the MPS in Sustainable Interior Environments program.
